Apprehended Domestic Violence Orders and Apprehended Personal Violence Orders

We can advise and represent you if you have been listed as the defendant in an Apprehended Domestic Violence Order (ADVO) or an Apprehended Personal Violence Order (APVO).

We understand the consequences of these orders and the way such an order can significantly impact the lives of our clients, including access to children, employment options in the future, and the mental stress associated with such an order being made against your name.

A breach of an AVO carries criminal consequence, including a maximum gaol term of 2 years.  The Court take contraventions of AVOs seriously, and so before consenting to any order, it is critical that you’ve received proper advice and made an informed decision about the AVO.
